On Saturday March 20, 2010, Valery Glenn, one of two Our Kids Clinical Coordinators, accompanied 13 FRC, His House,
CFCE and One Hope United teen girls on a Career/Beauty day at Beauty Schools of America in Hialeah. Valery wanted
the teens to experience a day of pampering. The day was to include much needed hair care and light make up make
overs if desired. When Jakeline Miranda, the regional event director of Beauty Schools of America was approached
about the beauty day idea, she was very enthusiastic and more than willing to make the event a reality. She had one
small suggestion. She recommended that it be a career/beauty day. Her vision was not only to pamper the girls but to
also expose them to the world of cosmetology and what it has to offer if chosen as a career path. The teens that were
selected to attend the event were all 17 and are preparing to exit high school. |

As the OK @Home project approaches its 300th successful installation, feedback continues to be encouraging. OK @Home user Betty Jackson says she's very enthusiastic about the computer and stated that the computer has settled numerous arguments. Her two children interact more and have done research for their homework, allowing them to complete their assignments more quickly. In addition, Mrs. Jackson makes them go online before they go shopping so that they can compare different stores and their prices. She also uses the computer with her grandson.
